For $8 you can get a VPS.

has some great deals on servers. I'm utilizing a $7/mo Windows 1GB and 24GB SSD. They're top notch

You don't have to cancel. MS won't charge you unless you agree to it.

You can also create a new MS account and use the same credit info.

Just a week before my trial expired I got an email from MS saying they would auto upgrade me to pay as you go method after the trial period. Do you mean I won't be auto billed after this?

I used my VISA card for 3 times in a row and I could still make new accounts.

Automatic Renewal Notification for Free Trial‏

Dear FirstName LastName,

Your subscription below is scheduled to be automatically renewed to Pay-As-You-Go on Tuesday, September 24, 2013.

Subscription Name: Free Trial

Here is a description of the service:

Flexible pay-as-you-go plan for all Windows Azure platform services.

Please confirm that your account and payment information is up to date.

To update your payment information:
1. Sign into http://account.windowsazure.com with your Windows Live ID. On the subscriptions page, select the corresponding subscription.
2. On the summary page, click ‘Change payment method’ and make the required changes.
If you are paying by credit card or debit card, your card will be charged ten days or later after the invoice date.

We have a new and improved customer agreement: the Windows Azure Agreement (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/support/legal/subscription-agreement), which replaces the Microsoft Online Subscription Agreement (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/support/legal/mosa). The new agreement is shorter and focuses on the issues most relevant to our Windows Azure customers. It includes a new section on security, privacy and data protection, detailing our commitments to you on these important topics. It incorporates a new Services Terms (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/support/legal/services-terms) that includes our Acceptable Use Policy and terms specific to Windows Azure features, eliminating dozens of pages relevant only to our other online services. We believe the result is a simpler, more readable agreement for our customers. By proceeding with automatic renewal of your subscription, you consent to the terms of the Windows Azure Agreement (http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/support/legal/subscription-agreement/).

Thank you for using Microsoft Online Services.
