Even with the tagging system, is there a point in adding tags to description?

Just wondering if adding tags in the description helps with anything anymore, now that there is a built in tag system.

In my experience it does not really help.
Before you could spam a load of tags in there and boom first page but not your best bet is just putting the niche in there.

In the OLD youtube system, it was a case of the more keywords the better but not now, keywords now are only seen internally by the owner of the video.
You will rank for additional keywords but they do not have a massive effect in my experience.
