According to yahoo anwsers :

"You cant keep a koala as a pet. They are only exported out of Australia as zoo animals, where people are specially trained to care for them. Koalas are very specific eaters, and only eat a small variety of different eucalypt leaves - and they have their favorites.
They will not eat if stressed, and can easily die of malnutrition if kept in inappropriate environments. They need a large space to live in, and many trees to climb and eat- they can also jump from tree to tree, and are good escape artists. They are not suitable to be kept as pets.
