I was looking for this time ago and i found only answer- yes you can but it is so complicated, you need to extract specific .dll's wich can have a lot of MB, so its a lot easier to just put .txt saying: you need to have .net frameworks...

Build it so the program requires only .NET 2.0, that's pre-installed on every machine since like 2008.

I do not think this is possible lol. You need to code in a language without any dependencies if this were to work.

I answered this thread previously I believed. You need to understand how the .NET Framework works. All .NET languages are complied into MSIL, (Microsoft Intermediate Language). For the computer to understand MSIL, it needs to make use of the CRL (Common Runtime Lib). CRL is sort of an intermediary between the high level MSIL, and the native Win32 API.

CRL is only on Windows Systems. In order to run any .NET Application, you'll need a CRL alternative for Mac, Linux etc, I believe there is a library that is called Mono, that would do the job. It may be a pain to setup.

More research should help.

Good Luck!

It's possible, what you need to do is make to an installer and include your target framework. After that you can create a portable application using

Or just build it in .NET Framework 2.0
