Too many scam artists out there...Learn from my mistakes

Hey guys,

My sister recently passed away, she had cancer. She raised me as a kid so I was pretty close with her. She didn't smoke, she didn't drink, she was always the good one. I guess it had been a long time coming; she had been sick since she was 21, and she passed away at 32. She didn't get to experience any of the good things in life. Anyway, in the process, I learnt a few things;

- The biggest scam artists in the world are religious people. My mother/father are unfortunately quite religious, so as a family, we spent a LOT of money on voodoo shit, with priests claiming such and such will cure her. They are nowhere to be found now that she's dead. Bottom line; IF you do believe in religion, don't turn to religious priests in times of pain - they will simply take your money.

- What's meant to be is meant to be; Me and my family literally tried everything to save her. Every alternative medicine, the best doctors, and still couldn't save her. It's hard to quantify this with a logical conclusion, but that's just life. You know it's interesting, just two weeks ago I was on my way to berlin from my home in london. As I was driving with my business partner, it was thundering and raining heavily. We had nothing but hiccups trying to get there - usually getting around EU is usually 10000x easier. Then on the final day, I had a car accident. I'm not a religious guy so I won't pin this down to some divine plan, but I genuinely thought to myself at that point, considering what's happened, perhaps the universe tries to send signs to you before something bad's about to happen. Perhaps we miss them due to our own greed or whatever.

- There are lots of scam artists in alternative medicine, especially for diseases where modern medicine has no cure for. Be careful when you're pursuing alternative medicine options as some of them are pure scams.

There's a lot of pain in this world, I mean my sister dying broke me, but there has been lots of other shit that's brought me to my knees. I think I've come to truly understand the saying "What's meant to be is meant to be". Sometimes, certain things are beyond our control, and if we try and do them anyway, call it whatever you want, we will inherently end up disappointed with the end result or perhaps even dead.

Bottom line; fix what you can, but ultimately, don't lose sight of the moment. I've been miserable for years, and it's because I had this ultimate hope that my life would improve. What I missed in the process is to enjoy the little things. I missed enjoying the moment with my first girlfriend, instead I was too depressed internally about my side problems. I missed enjoying the moment where I had enough to get rid of my shit cars and buy one awesome car because I was upset about what happened the other day. We should always try and enjoy the little things.

Making money online can be very depressing; Over the past year I've lost my sister, I also lost my grandmother and my girlfriend (she didn't die, just thought it was time to end), and gradually as you get more involved in online money making, your offline friends start to get annoyed that you're not going out. Make sure you enjoy each day, and don't lose sight of your offline friends. Socialising isn't a bad thing.

Sorry to hear that about your sister man. You could hope that she's in a better place right now. A lot of people get cancer, depending on what we do in our lives, anything can happen. That's how life is, people come and people go. I can relate to a lot of what you're saying, but right now, it's better to not waste anytime on what we can't change. I dislike wasting the time that I waste on my laptop, working on sites (trying to make daily income) when there's a huge world out there. I can't wait until I can finally stop and do what I really want to do in life. Time goes by pretty freaking fast so I try to work fast and work on what I actually want to do with my life.

Anyway, keep it up dude and never lose hope!

Thanks for the kind words man, and I'm sorry to hear about whatever's going on in your world. Time does go by so fast, I lost all my uni time because I was with my girlfriend who was very unsociable, and I spent whatever free time I had from her either with my sister or working on my business. I forgot to enjoy the little things, and it's a huge problem with online earners - they're just chasing the next $XXX/day milestone.

I've genuinely been thinking it would be worth arranging meetups amongst us in major cities each month, it would be a great way to get to know others offline, and build experiences/friends in the process.

Sorry about your loss, it is sad how scammers take advantage of people at their most vunerable point and they make things even worse for them.
How these people sleep at night is beyond me. I like to think there is karma in the world and people reap what they sow.
I hope you are enjoying life a lot more now, finding that joy in the little things instead of worrying, I've been there as well, I had sever depression when I started making money, as it was also a time I had to pay a lot because of some very bad circumstances, if we worry about everything, we will die without having enjoyed life.
