Tier 1 backlinks - amount?

Hey guys.
I am aware that this is a tough question, and really it all comes down to the competition of my niche.

However, lets say that we're ranking a medium competition niche.

I've always used churn and burn, and now Im wondering if I should start doing some tier building to maintain a stable income.

But I've had problems finding out, how many tier 1 back links do you guys actually create? All services offer from 10-50 tier 1 links. with 200 tier 2 links, and 5000 tier 3 links.

However, What do you guys normally prefer?
Tier 1: 10%
Tier 2: 30%
Tier 3: 60%

Or how would you go?

Best regards.

Again, impossible to answer, "medium competition" can be million different things and might not be medium at all. Just check backlinks of sites on first page man and see how much and which links they have and go from there.

That has nothing to do with %.. your tier 1 links are 100% tier 1 links.

As for the amount of links, there is no answer to that, just build links until you get ranked. Even after that to remain ranked.

Make sure you build contextual links on tier 1, with high PR and low OBL. That helps a lot!

Well, yes I do know that my tier 1 links is 100% tier 1.
What I was asking for is how do you guys split up the back links?
How many tier 2 links do you build for your tier 1? and how many tier 3 for your tier 2 links?

Yea well, the problem is that I have no clue on how many tier 1 to build, compared to tier 2 and tier 3.
Only worked with tier 1 links so far.

Dude, do what I told you - check how many links your competition has, why is this so hard? You see how many links they have (and also type of links - web 2.0's, private blog network posts, bookmarks etc) - just do more.

And you are so confused on tiers lol You are so over complicating this, just build your links than do tiers if you want, is really optional, it just helps with indexing and maybe a bit of link juice, there is no set number or some "perfect number", for example if you do 1k tier 1 links, just do 10-15k tier 2 and whatever tier 3, there is no set number for this.
