I see a lot of students here on the forums and some of our publishers are still in school themselves and through conversations and threads that are on here I see that a lot of people tend to feel like all the school work
they have to do takes in their time and focus which leaves them occupied and tired in their head at the end of the day when they are trying to continue with their CPA Marketing campaigns.

So, I thought I'd explain to you an amazing memorization technique that I use that will completely change the way you memorize information and how fast you do that. Which will benefit you in so many ways in school and in later life!

[hide]
Method of Loci
Also known as the memory palace; it's a memorization technique in which you take certain journeys/paths/places that you are familiar with in everyday life (like going from your home, to school) and use different familiar key points that you come across in a particular journey and hook different memories to it by visual images/scenes. So you end up walking through that familiar path in your mind with all the familiar things (key points) that you come across during that path; such as a bus station or a certain stop sign, and have those key points replaced with the information that you're trying to memorize. You're basically adding time and space to the things you're trying to memorize in your head.

This method is so incredibly easy to learn and immensely useful that you'll be amazed at why they haven't taught you this in school yet or even at work. It is useful for pretty much anything that has to do with memorizing information. From lists to presentations to books and anything you can pretty much think of where memory comes into play.
It's immensely useful for students, sales people, actors and professions of all sorts and daily chores such as doing shopping or remembering appointments and things of that nature.

And especially all of you here who do affiliate marketing and are currently studying on the side, this will relieve so much time and weight off your shoulders and tremendously increase your performance in school or work and simultaneously create so much more time for you to focus on your Affiliate Marketing without worrying about passing for your exams the next day. A clearer head equals better and higher productivity.

So how does the method work?
Quite simple, there are 3 things that come into play:
1. You pick a journey you're familiar with.
2. You convert the information you want to remember into visual images/scenes.
3. You hook them up to familiar key points of your journey.

I'll give you an example of how this works, it's very easy and quick to learn.

Let's say, I have a familiar path that I go through everyday, something that I am very familiar with. For example, going from home down to the grocery shop. During that path I come across different key points that I am familiar with:
A statue
A school building
A trash bin
That car that is always parked on the same spot
Tree
A fountain
A bench

Let's take those familiar key points and use them as storage points for our memory. Now, let's say I need to remember this list of words:
Vegetables
Independence Day
Keyboard
Airplane
Gold
Suitcase
Space travel

It doesn't really matter what the words are, anything that needs to be memorized can be done with this memorization technique.

Now, let's make the magic happen. We're going to take each word, convert the words that you need to remember, into visual images/scenes and attach them to each individual key points that I mentioned.
The more visual your images/scenes are, the easier you'll be able to recall them. Make it funny, absurd, big and as crazy as possible. Make use of the power of your imagination! So this is how I go about doing it:

First key point: A statue
Word I want to memorize: Vegetables
How I would memorize: So I would replace that statue with a giant smiling vegetable; a broccoli, that dances around and plays with bunch of shakers with Mexican music on the background.

2nd key point: A school building
Word I want to remember: Independence Day
How I would memorize: I would simply imagine 2 soldiers upholding the American flag in front of the school building. This would be enough for me to memorize it, but to go even further and make the image clearer I could imagine
the 2 soldiers upholding the American flag while they are wearing a pink tuxedo.

3rd key point: A trash bin
Word I want to memorize: Keyboard
How I would memorize: I would enlarge the trash bin to the size of a giant building and inside the trash bin would be a giant yellow keyboard sticking out.

4th key point: That car that is always parked on the same spot.
Word I want to memorize: Airplane
How I would memorize: I would simply just replace the car with a Private Jet that has a giant logo of a clown on it.

5th key point: Tree
Word I want to memorize: Gold
How I would memorize: I would change the tree into a very very shiny tree made out of gold with golden apples hanging from it and a big crate full of gold jewelry in it.

6th key point: A fountain
Word I want to memorize: Suitcase
How I would memorize: Instead of water coming out the fountain, I would have bunch of suitcases flow out of the fountain and on the suitcases would be a bright yellow smiley logo on them.

7th key point: A bench
Word I want to memorize: Space travel
How I would memorize: I would imagine 2 Astronauts sitting on that bench while eating Chinese noodles out of a paper box.

Recalling the words:
Now it's really easy for me to recall the words. I would simply just start my journey -in my mind- from my house to the grocery shop and every time when I come across each key point in my memory, I would instantly recall the image that I visualized and the word that was attached to that visual image would pop up in my head.

So in my mind, the first thing I would see is not a statue, but a giant smiling Broccoli dancing around with shakers on Mexican music. Of which I instantly call out the word: Vegetables
Then I come across 2 soldiers upholding the American flag in front of a school building while they're wearing a pink tuxedo to which I will remember the words: Independence Day. And then move down the road like that, you get the point.

So essentially I would first get the image/scene that I attached to a key point in my mind and THEN the word that was associated with it, not the other way around.

So, try for yourself now, this method will work for you at first try, it's absolutely not hard at all. I'll give you a list of 20 words and use the method that I just explained to you to memorize them. Here we go:
Jam
Overwrite
Immigrate
Navy Ship
Anticipate
Decorate
Levitate
Unity
Dance
Ultra Sound
Magnificent
Refresh
Inside
Greatness
Happy
Tuba Player
Nevada
Opacity
Wifi Signal
Zoo Park

How did it go? Were you able to memorize all of the words? Did you notice how your perspective slowly started changing on how you used to memorize things and your relationship with memory in general. And wasn't it fun to do?

If you memorized them by the method then you will also be able to easily name the words from the back to front. Just walk the journey backwards in your mind. And if I were to ask you again later on the day to recall the words, you'll be surprised at how you are still able to remember all of the words.

In the end you can use any sort of familiar place to store memory, could even be just your room. You can visualize yourself standing in the middle of your room and then turning clockwise around the room and use all the different objects in your room to store memory into them. Once you really get good you can start to build an entire memory museum in your head with locations that you have made up on your own.

So anyone who is studying right now and has an exam coming up, use this method. You'll achieve 4 things: A. Learn way faster, B. Have fun doing it, C. Get a much better grade and D. Have more time to focus on your CPA Marketing campaigns.

Good luck and share how well it went for you! :)

This technique is well known by card counters in casinos :)
But it is not that easy to accomplish as you wrote. :)
To learn this word list is much easier to learn it in simple way without any imagination.
But to get out something really good you have to train, train and train again yourself to get out something really useful, so I really do not suggest somebody to try that method before exams, as this will be another exam to learn in general and you will be fucked up at the end of the day :D

Yes, it might be used for all sorts of purposes, but then again so many things can be used for all sorts of purposes.

About the method being difficult to learn, I'm sorry to break it down to you but unfortunately you're COMPLETELY wrong and I have to say this because I simply know from experience and observation of how other people have applied the method and how much it has saved them time.

But you don't have to be wrong if you try it out first. You probably seen this sort of thing shown in movies (Sherlock Holmes for example) or some TV Shows but the reality of is that It IS very easy to learn and it IS wise to use this method to memorize information and it's especially good for students learning for an exam or just generally doing homework, you're MUCH better off learning and applying this method then to just memorizing information the old fashion way.

Start with just memorizing 5 words if you THINK 20 words is too much to start off with, which I can understand, a bit daunting. Because you've been taught, or actually never really taught how to memorize in school. So you go about memorizing things in a very directionless way, no technique. Don't get me wrong though, I used to think like you too about that sort of thing, until I've tried the method and proved myself wrong and so have many others done that.

I've seen it for myself and seen it for others as well, try it and you'll see it work. First time I tried the method, I was able to memorize 50 words with ease the same day in just 5-8 minutes, from front to back. Same with others that've tried, nothing but positive results.

And there is absolutely nothing advanced about it or difficult, quite contrary the way people memorize nowadays is the difficult and the unnecessary route. Memory does not depend on whether you are savant or an Einstein. It's all about technique and it's a damn simple one too.

Work smarter, not harder, right? :).

Great share!
Defo useful for us young entrepreneurs/marketers but also for anyone that need to memorize stuff. Comes in handy not only for my studies but also when I am going to the grocery store because I always tend to forget to buy the thing I was supposed to.

This is just one of the visual based memorize techniques. Please keep in mind, each person has it's own technique. This can vary between visual, audience, scent, ... techniques.

Anyway, this is a great share. Thank you.
