Do .com, .org, .pw etc effect the ability to rank a page?

Yes, because if you buy new custom domain such .com, .org or anything new, that means your site or domain link will have 0 PA 0 DA and 0 PR.

If I were you I will look for a cheap old expired domain with some kind of an authority, but it and use it. In that way you won't get a hard time to rank it.

Ask me whenever you want, via pm or replying here. I'll be glad to help

Thanks for the reply. What if you have a choice between an expired .com and .pw domain (all with the same PA,DA, and PR). Both have the same domain name the only difference is price. If you get the .pw will it be harder to rank than the .com?

Top level TLDs such as .com .net .org does not affect the ranking at all.

Country level TLDs such as .co.uk .de .us effects the rankings in the countries they are registered in, for example if you have purchased a .co.uk domain targeting payday loans niche, your web site will ( probably not, but i'm just paraphrasing :D ) rank for payday loan keywords on google.co.uk but not on google.com or google.ca.

New TLDs like .nyc , .school .education etc, haven't been available for long time to give a right answer, although i'm not seeing them ranking for any keywords to be honest.

That's not what he asked.

Btw. regarding .pw domain, that domain is quite new, yet i'm seeing some sites ranking for a though keywords using it, however i would still rather go for a .com instead of .pw.

Thanks for the answer mate. Just so I'm clear, people spend the extra money for a .com instead of a .pw for example, just because users will probably trust a .com more?

Yes, in most cases .com is the best option in term of conversion rate, although i am a 100% positive that .com ranks better than .pw , after all, .com .net and .org were the first domains which were available for public registration.

For me it really depends, if you want to rank your site on a certain country then go for .fr, .uk, .au or etc which is country targeted from what dar1x said :) But if you are targeting globally then use the top notch domain which are .com, .org, .net and etc. Just my piece of advice, if you are just starting yet on SEO better start it using subdomains like .wordpress.com, .blogspot.com and etc. Because the juices of these sites will be passed on your newly created page, unlike if you are creating your own .com domain your site will have 0 power :) try it first, master it then jump to the next level

Thanks for clarifying bruh, I didn't get his point clearly. I agree with you .pw domain is new to my eyes.
