A new day, a new site.

I was previously working on this adult site, however my graphic card died and I eventually caved in and sold the site that was earning $100-200 a month to buy a new GPU. Silly idea but I had lost interest in the site and it wasn't exactly a business I'd tell people on the street about.

I'm now starting a site based on a hobby I'm incredibly interested in. It's a little more competitive than the adult niche I was working on so it's going to take longer to earn I'd imagine. Hoping to set daily/weekly/monthly goals and posting them here will hopefully help make me take action.

The site is currently 2-3 weeks old and there's 10 posts published already. These are relatively low competition articles for the niche however as it's a new site they're sandboxed/dancing all over google.

It will be another long journey as I'm going for organic search traffic. I may venture into YouTube somewhere down the line though.

Income so far:
  • MTD: $0
  • YTD: $0

While I've not monetised anything as of yet, it's early days. Focusing on content so I can drive traffic. Here's the potential monetisation opportunities.
  • Amazon Affiliates & Other e-commerce commission based affiliate programmes
  • Creating & Selling my own digital products
  • Google Adsense/Some other Ad Network.
  • Potential to dropship or create product.
  • Clickbank/ShareASale
  • CPA Offers

I love how broad I can go with this niche however that may also slow things down. Focusing on a small sub-category right now and interlinking articles.

Goals Ending (31/04/2018)
Research 40 Keywords (30 of which are low competition, 10 with higher search traffic) (20/40 done).
Publish 10 long, high quality articles which are low competition and maybe even "KGR" compliant. (2/10 Complete).

Goals Ending (31/12/2018)
8000 Organic Clicks from Google
$1000 Earnings

I'm aware that if the sandbox lasts god forbid 6 months, these goals will be hard to achieve. I'm confident with high quality informational content and a small backlink profile we'll be out of the sandbox on lower competition keywords fairly quickly. maybe 3 months or so.

Well writing that article was a grind. It's only 1300 words but should rank ok to begin with. If it's sitting around rank 20-30 or better in a month or two I'll probably add some more content too it.

Think I'm going to take tomorrow off from writing articles. May do some blog commenting, google+/Facebook group sharing with a side of keyword research.

good luck mate!! i have some few question!

do you write content or outsource it?
if outsource, then how much you will to pay for 1000 words?

do you start back-linking? what is you plan for back-link strategies and how much you will spend for ranking?

have you any plan on those things?

Currently writing the content myself, though once the site is earning I'll probably start re-investing the money into getting content written as it is a lot of effort.
I've read that you can get good writers on upwork for $15-20/1000 words. It will take a lot of trial & error though. Once you get good writers, keep them.

I've only done a little bit of backlinking. Got a link from a niche relevant directory, setup some social signals and done a blog comment or two trying to build relationships.

The focus on content and incredibly low competition keywords allows me to need very little/no backlinks to rank. Though I am making relationships and will most likely start to ask for guest posts once I feel that I've got enough content on my site.

2-3 week old site that's "sandboxed". When the site ages a little, these should be on or around the first page with solid interlinking.
