As far as I know, VPN is much secure. But why always proxy is used by the mainstream?

When using a public VPN service such as HMA, the IPs get abused quickly as they are shared with all the service subscribers, whereas private proxies are used only by you.

I see... but how about those proxies that you get for free? Aren't they shared too?

Yes, they are, and you better stay away from them as they are of no use and usually stop working after a few hours.

I have a new question in mind, but still related to proxies.
If I got a proxy that connects to a certain country, then I upload something while in the proxy, then my file will be part of that certain country's local search engine?

Ex: I proxy my IP to China, then I upload something. China will have better chance of getting my file compared to among the other country?

Where are you going to upload the file? Generally speaking, no, it does not matter where you're uploading a file from, even when uploading videos to YouTube.

Thank you for clearing my mind. Very informative! Once again, thanks!
