PR5 domain without backlinks and her power?

Hello, my friend became the owner of the domain from PR 5 which surprisingly does not have backlinks. How to check its authenticity? The point is that Page Rank has not been raised artificially.
This seems rather odd, but if the domain is actually PR5 without backlinks (might have been removed?), It is possible to revive it by Linking good, so that for some time could pass the real power PR5?
What do you think about that?

He most likely has backlinks, he's probably hiding them by disallowing certain backlinking sites to check.

Is normal, is trash domain. I look at dozens of domains daily when buying them, people try to scam by selling domains with fake PR like that one.

If it doesn't have any backlinks, is PR N/A and it will show that instead of PR5 when next PR update comes around.

He basically has a normal empty domain, but with a chance that it has been penalized in the past, be careful.

You can recreate those backlinks, and on top of that PR remains unchanged for 3 month to an year.
So you can use this PR5 domain, just build some backlinks around it.
I had domain in the same situation, and even after an update from Google it still keeps its PR.
If you don't want to work on it, go to flippa and sell it to someone (for example).
But I think it has some potential. This is just my personal opinion.
