Hello there :) ! this is my first time reading about seo . so sorry for the noob question !

My question is : when doing manual seo ( or blackhatseo it doesn't matter) do i actually get traffic even before ranking #1 ? or i must rank #1 to get traffic ?

Have a good day :)

Well if you are not ranked anywhere it will be hard to get traffic unless you promote it via YT or FB, Twitter... otherwise you rank and it will get some traffic, even better with a fb viral script (1st step like this page, 2nd step share this message etc..)

I think this is it.

Of course you'll get traffic even if you're listed on top of page 2 or at position 10 (if available) at page 1.

It depends on the country you target, your audience and your niche, but some studies say, 70 % click on position 1, where only 5 % are left for position 10 (if available).

"if available" means: Not every result page consists of 10 organic results.

So you should always try to be "above the fold", as SEO's and conversion rate pro's say.

They are used to rank your website. You don't get traffic from them.

Some Examples:

- If you're writing "guest articles" in some blogs about your niche, then you'll directly target your audience. If they're interested in further details and/or like what you wrote, then they'll click on your backlink. This generates traffic.

- The same, if you write some intersting posts at some forums and use your link there (please don't spam).

let me keep it simple :
if you rank #1 for a 1000m/s kw then probably you will receive 80% of the traffic
if you rank #10 for a 10000m/s kw you are supposed to receive 10% of the traffic but you can get it even more by tweaking the title constantly
if you rank on second page for a 100k m/s kw then in most cases you will still get some traffic , something around 1-5k ,

but trust me the whole idea its to rank on top3 , once you're there sit back and relax , you will see the money rolling in as long as you have a decent landing page and a good conversion ratio as well , when it comes to conversion its something you gotta experiment by yourself , hope that helps .

You can create Backlinks with Social Platform too.
Many great blogs have a bunch of social accounts and a great RSS feed.
Every time they post something on their blogs/sites. A feed is created that is sent to all this Social Platforms.
And if you have a highly targeted audience then that audience will convert into likes/shares/backlinks/money.
If you are new to SEO then you should have a look at the SEO section of the forum.
