Hello,

Me & a partner of mine are working together on a website. I use a link locker on my landing page, so when people click "Download" , it will take them to my link locker which contains the surveys. Is there a way where 50% of the people who click on the download button get redirected to my partner's link locker?
I would like to split our traffic 50/50

you can try google content experiments. just create 2 landing page and you're all set.

^Yes, but that would require Google Webmasters and such account I believe? I am not sure if that is what OP wants (having Google sneaking in).

I think what you can do is create 2 landing pages, one of yours and other for your partner. Then, if you know some PHP, you can use "rand" function to choose between both links and depending on the result it gives (this is just for analytical purpose at this point, you can even use random function to have it declare result like site1 or site2).

Then, depending upon the result/answer it gives, redirect them to landing page 1 or 2 using the PHP header redirect function.

When I used to use rand function in past (not for this purpose for but rotating advertisements), it always used to give me 50/50 results on both, meaning it had equal distribution despite being random.

Give it a try and see if it helps.

If all this sounds complicated to you, you can always use tools like Optimizely (paid) if money is not an issue. Otherwise an easy solution, just have one landing page and split the profit at the end of the month if you and your partner trust each other completely.

Hope this helps.

A more accurate way is to just create a counter that is incremented on each page view. Each time the counter is incremented test to see if it is divisible by 2 something like:

Code:
if($page_view_counter % 2) { show_page_one(); } else { show_page_two(); }

This will split the traffic evenly 50/50.

Here you go, check this thread.. You will need variables and a counter to do so! http://www.cpaelites.com/Thread-Need-hel...-variables
