Just get yourself a decent offshore hosting and buy a private domain with them. It's a little bit more than namecheap or godaddy, but it's totally worth it.

And the difference is? I wouldn't recommend OP to buy a domain off any hosting company, simply because there isn't any difference, they're way more expensive (15$ for a .com) and less reliable. I've had a domain hosted on a hosting company long time ago, they went down and I lost everything. All the domains are controlled by ICANN, so even if you host it on the other side of the world, nothing will stop them from removing / blocking your domain if someone reports you.

While this holds true, the difference is in how well they guard your privacy.

For example, if an organisation(with such authority) asks namecheap for the payment details about that particular domain, they will give it out without much thinking even though you have bought privacy. But if same happens to off-shore companies, they won't care and won't even reply them back.

EDIT: Of course, I'm not saying it is impossible for off-shore companies to reveal your details if they get pressed down, but still it's one layer of protection more which I think it's totally worth the additional $5-6.
