I kind of like two monitors, or three the most. I do currency investing, so it helps with the charts. One monitor? Eh, I couldn't work on just one. I like to have things large in font, and then maybe something on the side like a video. It really does help with two, and almost motivating because now you don't need to waste time minimizing windows. Studies show it helps with productivity. Just don't go overboard, which is why for me, 3 is the limit. But other currency investors get a $1,000 display unit, which includes 6 large monitors and a bracket that mounts to a desk or wall. It's okay, but that is way too much for me. I know my ISP and data center have 6 monitors each monitoring station. But if you aren't dealing with charts, then 3 is fine. :)

Same here. I have servers in my basement, and I got this cheap monitor from my Mom's co-worker and now I use it on my laptop and it's great. Right now, I'm typing this, and listening/watching to a spoken word YouTube video on the other monitor.

Laptop video card (I have an APU) runs hot with two monitors, so anyone taking this advice, make sure your computer has decent graphics or you won't be able to run another monitor as clean. Upgrade the RAM to 1600Mhz (RAM runs in half so 800Mhz) and that will boost the graphics, and then you will be watching 4k on the external monitor :)

There is a definite liking for each of us haha. Walker, I recommend going to the store before purchasing online. I've seen this recommended more than trying out desk chairs before buying online. You need to see them in person, and make sure you like it. I literally went to Staples, and was playing around with the monitors as my sister looked at laptops, and I took two monitors and put them side by side to make sure it fits my desk! Some monitors will not look as clear as others, and that is why I stress seeing them in person.

I am using my 32" TV as my monitor, Bigger the better (But not too big) in my opinion so I'll recommend the 24". But make sure its of good quality.
