Looking for CPA/Brand Ambassador Advice

Hello my business partner and I launched a new mens accessories website. We are in the process of trying to setup a CPA (Cost-per-action)/Ambassador program. Initially our thought was to find individuals with a social media presence to help sell and promote our products and every sell they make, they receive a commission and depending on how many sells a month that commission goes up and they receive free products as well. My questions are as follows.

1) Is this something that people still do and is it effective, if so what is a good commission to offer for mens clothing/accesories line?
2) Ive tried contacting MaxBounty and PeerFly with no luck, I did get a "we can definitely work with you" and nothing after that from peerfly. Is there other companies that offer a similar service?
3) Should we start something in House, I am a decent we developer and could easily setup a commission based system for users.

I appreciate your help and any direction you can send me.

It really depends a lot on what your product is and how good your brand is. If you want this to be a successful offer (regardless of what CPA network you approach with this idea, including your own) then it will need to be something that will convert well for publishers. If the conversion rate/EPC is is good enough, more publishers will want to promote your product, if publishers want to promote your product then CPA networks will want it in their offers.

Thanks for the reply, we have a bit of a smaller niche and we think we have a great website and products. Its shop wooden bow ties . com.

But is there a source you can point me too a company that does CPA (cost per sale), maybe there is not I'm not sure.

The website and product look good, in terms of getting in touch with a network it looks like you're on the right track. Keep reaching out to people with offers and make sure you have a big enough budget to support a successful campaign. I don't know what you're currently doing to promote your site but if you haven't already I would suggest buying some ads at various places on the internet to get a better idea of what you'd need to pay publishers. Hi, have you tried joing CJ or shareasale or admit ad? These are networks which usually most eCommerce sites go to boost their sale. I am not 100% sure but you should at least contact them and see if it fits your needs.
