Internet traffic refers to the flow of data and people across the internet. Thus, traffic means the number of users that can view and interact with your content or your website. For you to be successful in CPA marketing, you need to have a lot of traffic, which means you need to learn how to get traffic.  

There are basically two types of traffic: paid and free traffic. These two can be subdivided further into various subcategories such as social media traffic, organic traffic among others.

In free traffic, you do not pay to receive traffic to your site. There are numerous methods to get free traffic to your site. The most popular ones are social marketing and search engine optimization (SEO). For instance, if you have a large following on Twitter or Facebook, you can redirect your followers to your website via a tweet or status update. Alternatively, if you rank high in the search engines without paying for ranking, you will be able to receive tons of free traffic.

Just as the name suggests, paid traffic means that you pay to receive traffic on your site. The most common form of paid traffic is when someone buys or rather pays to place adverts on a certain website. This often requires you to have a budget because you can spend an unlimited amount of money on paid adverts and you may be required to pay beforehand to receive the traffic. The budget depends on the volatility and the popularity of the niche you are targeting. The more targeted and popular it is, the higher you will spend. Facebook and Google platforms are great examples of self-service platforms that promote both paid and free traffic.

What traffic is best for CPA Marketing?

Both paid and free traffic options are great, however, if you have money, the paid traffic option will give you almost instant traffic. If you are on a budget, opt for free traffic. The problem with free traffic is that it takes time to pick up. The greatest advantage with free traffic is that it is not only affordable but allows you to achieve longevity. Paid traffic brings bursts of traffic only when you are running the campaigns.

To avoid being lost in these in multiple traffic options especially if you are new to CPA marketing, it is recommended to start with one or two free marketing methods. Once you have mastered them, you can expand to other methods including paid traffic or both depending on your needs.
