Hello CPAelites people

I was wondering if anyone here can suggest a better laptop than this:
http://www.dell.com/uk/p/inspiron-15-754...548-laptop

I've fallen for the design and tech specs, but the GPU isn't that good, and complains about the keyboard/touchscreen are all over the place.

Can anyone suggest a laptop for that price range with similar/better tech specs?

PS: Going to use it for development and casual gaming

True that, but it's ddr3, it's like 2GB gddr5. It's really nice but with these reviews I can't get it :p

4GB is a 4GB, the difference in the DDR generation is in the speed, latency and power consumption, volume is always the same. You can't get a laptop with a better GPU in that price range, unless you buy a used one. However, it's a shame that the laptop does not have an SSD or at last a 2nd open bay where you could add SSD later on. I would rather have 120 GB SSD on laptop than 1 TB of 5200 rpm HDD.

Well said. I was referring to the overall performance of ddr3 compared to gddr5.

Wish there was a windows laptop with macbook design/specs xD

Buy a macbook and install the windows over bootcamp :)

If you want a decent gaming laptop for a pretty much affordable price, take a look at Asus's ROG series, for example : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/rog-15-6-not...1312401684

Comparing to the your choice, it comes with the faster HDD, 2nd bay available ( you can also find these laptops with additional 120 GB SSD ), better GPU and the price is about the same.

The second sentence was referring to the laptop dude.

And since you want to play it a smartass can you please explain to me why 4GB of DDR3 isn't the same as 5GB of GDDR5 in terms of performance?

No I had not considered Lenovo for some reason. Don't know why but I have categorized Lenovo as low quality for some reason :p

Going to take a look, thank you!

Edit: Damn they seem to be pretty neat! Will definitely consider buying from them :)

the screen on that one is meh :/
look at the asus zenbooks they're pretty good but also expensive.
I personally use my MacBook Retina 13" as my daily driver (had it for 1.4 years now) and for me its the best laptop ever (esp the battery life/screen). As a super-portable id say the Surface Pro 3 is pretty good because its thin n light and has a awesome battery life (just grabbed one 3 days ago and love it so far)

Since youre looking for a beefy laptop check out the Asus ROG gamer laptops.
If you want something with a good build quality/battery life check out the thinkpad carbon :)
