Landing Page with or without a navigation bar?
2014-01-21, 08:38 PM, (This post was last modified: 2014-01-21, 08:39 PM by ozy.)
I've seen many Landing pages that do not have navigation bars, and I also have a few as well.

My question is, if I decide not to go for a navigation, would Google penalise me for that? I've heard in many places that for SEO Purposes, menus are important. Also, having a contact, about and privacy policy pages are important as well for ranking.

I would be very grateful for all of your feedback.

The reason why I don't want a navigation is because I want full focus on the call to action, that's it. But if that's bad for SEO, Navigation may bbe required.

LoL who said not having a navigation bar will hurt you? Do you run a BIG site that gets a loot of visitors from Serps? Nope so this is like 0.0001% of the things you should care for.

I was speaking to a person, who works as an SEO specialist, and he basically said, if there is no navigation, Google thinks lowly of your website. Just having a few links in the navigation can apparently make a world of a difference. I'm confused...

It's okay to not have a navigation bar. The guy you talked to means that Google would see your site as a low quality squeeze page type of site because it does not have a navigation bar.

"It's not about what you know, it's about what you do that makes a difference."

From what I'm hearing, you shouldn't have any other unnecessary links on your landing page. You would want to funnel your visitors to your download button at all cost, these navigation bars may distract that user from your goals.

What I do is to put them below the page on the footer. This would pass around internal link juice but wouldn't distract the users from your sales funnel.

I mean, if you're page does not need a navigation, don't put it then.

If you feel like your site is hard to get around then put up a navigation.

If your landing page is HQ, it won't matter if you put it or not.

Well, are you using a multi-niche site? I use my navigation bar to hold my Contact Us page, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, etc. It makes it easier for users to, well...navigate. :P

M3 E92, here I come!
2014-01-27, 06:24 AM,
I am using a multi-niche website to attrack people. If they are not fully interested on the niche that bring them here, they may fall for something else, so I need a navigation bar to categorize my niches.
