[IDEA] Thanks Button

For starters, not sure where to post Ideas/Bugs etc on this Forum, so
if someone could lead me into the right direction, would be great! As
for now though, I will post here.

Hey everyone!

I've been browsing this forum quite a bit recently, and have notice the
amount of threads that require a 'Thank' in order to see the content
posted by the OP/User. It come to my attention that on each instance
of you pressing the 'Thank Button' you had to manually refresh the
page.

An idea popped up in my head, which I tried searching for and found
nothing for... The idea is that once the 'Thank Button' is clicked, the
page should automatically refresh. Now, I don't know if this is just
happening for me, or people are just too used to it, they don't care...
but I just thought it would be a nice little add-on to the 'Thanks
Button'.

Just an idea, however, would like to see what other people think of
this, as I think it would be more efficient for users on this forum.

Thanks anyways, reply below with thoughts or saying that this has
already been suggested. Would also like to know if anyone's browsers
automatically refresh currently when pressing 'Thanks'!

Not a bad idea. The current 'Thanks' system does indeed require a full page refresh, however it could be modified to take use of the .load() jQuery to update specific page elements, i.e. the post element.

Exactly! A simple update like this is not very hard, and the result of it
however will be great for the rest of the forum! As I know for a fact,
I've done it myself... I click on the 'Thanks' button again, after already
clicking it... refreshing the page to realize I accidentally Un-Thanked the
post.

Really? What browser are you currently using... as this may be an issue
with a specific browser. I'm currently using Chrome, but have not yet
tested it on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera etc.. Would like to
know what browser you're using though.

Well in Chrome it doesn't. Sorry for off-topic, but reply to see the content would be a cool idea too :)

Please quote me if you are replying to me so I would get a notification.

reply to see would just bring alot of spammy posts = lowering the overall standart of the forum, so thats a bad idea IMO

Even if you do need to refresh, unless your using ie on a 1991 PC or Dialup then it shouldn't take more then a second.

I use Google Chrome and it works perfectly, you need to create a thread inside the (Forum bugs) section please.
