You're probably just on a shared hosting?

I think Hostwinds is reliable.

As much as I know they're not offshore, so a single DMCA can ruin your hard work. They are a good deal if you're doing something other than affiliate marketing and similar.

Hey, Im really sorry you had issues this morning. Did you have a ticket open with our support department? If so I would REALLY like to get the ticket # so that I can investigate and see what the issue was. We did not have any downtime today.

We actually do not just shut people down upon receiving a DMCA complaint. WE have a multi step process:

1) Verify the complaint is legitimate, and meet all the requirements of DMCA

2) If the complaint is legitimate We then will do one of several things depending on the severity, as well as your site as a whole.

3A) We will determine if your entire site is violating copyright laws (Example: a website dedicated to hosting stolen and cracked copies of software or keygens) In these cases we will typically suspend your website since the ENTIRE website is dedicated to violating others copyright. We will of course provide you with full backups so that you can move your website to a new host

3B) If we determine that only a small portion of your website is in violating. (Example: One page on your website has the logo of anotehr company on it) We will typically rename the file in question (Example logo.jpg to logo2.jpg) This will allow your website to be online, and for us to be in compliance with DMCA laws.

3C) If the complaint is valid, however there is moral grey area: Such as hosting pictures of someone who does not like them. Then we will forward the complaint to you, and consult our legal team as to the best course of action for us. (We don't want to hinder free speech, but we don't want to break the law either)

I hope this helps clarify how we handle DMCA complaints, We would never simply delete or terminate your website, we will ALWAYS provide our clients with backups, not matter what. It's your data, we just host it.

Yeah, I understand your policy. The thing you act for DMCA is not bad at all, but it just is not really good for PPD/CPA (I mean for fake content as the majority is promoting). But on the other side, it's good if you're sharing the real content and no one will complain. Also the fact you're browsing the forums as this one to defend yourself tells how serious you are.

It is actually not clear for me what this DMCA can do related to fake h@cks. I understand that legal working h@cks is ok to get in problems, but we actually never h@cking the actual game, so there is nothing related to breaking any copyrights and stuff, and also if site is multi-niche then i guess you are getting complain from just one game developer team so you can just delete one page from your whole webpage and that is all.
