Snoopy is right and advertise in the right places. Car forum? You advertise on car sites, car reddits, car FB pages etc. Gaming forum? You do the same.

Yes, these are general rules, but I would like to get some ideas to improve that rate.
For example: You get access to something only if you're a member.

Well it depends on what niche it's based on, what is the forum related too?

Make a contest, request users to post XX amount of high quality posts and the winner will get whatever prize you want to give them :P.

Honestly, running a forum is HARD work, don't take what I say lightly either. Most people assume running forums is easy, wrong, constant bugs and support issues on a daily basis. Actually monetizing a forum is even harder.

Yes, but when you start a forum you neeed to have:
- Money (because you will not get any $$ from the forum in the beggining, you just need to invest..)
- Time (posting HQ articles and interacting with users takes quite some time).

Well yes but that comes part and parcel with the forum, if you don't have relevant experience in the field you're preaching about, how can anyone take you seriously. Money helps but overall it's the experience that matters the most. The reality is however that unless you can tap into something that's not saturated, well, really you don't have much of a chance when competing with already well established forums.

Your correct hawk, you might get money but you need good ass content. Like Hawks VIP sections. They need to vet strong good unique content. At the start don't add any upgrades as it would make it look like your just potting for money. Make threads content locked so they ha e to sign up that will get you members. Also make sure mybb is up to date ALL times since exploits come and trust me it will come.so make constant back ups. When you hit like 1000 members , also got great content. You can start adding upgrades. Be strict. Don't be an soft pussy admin. Think outside the box. If you need any questions.PM Me. I know all about forums.
