A simple way to add a custom cursor to your website from an image
[hide]1.Find a cursor or create one by your self. The top-left area of the image is going to be the functional part of the mouse(Click, Highlight etc.) The image has to be a PNG file and the background has to be transparent
2. After you've got a cursor image, go to ImageShack or your preferred image hosting website and upload the cursor.
3. Go to your website's main CSS file and add the following code at the top:
Code:
body {
cursor:url(DirectImageLink.png);
}
You can also add a cursor to a specific element(for example a div)
Code:
div {
cursor:url(Image.png);}
This will only change the cursor when it's hovered over the div element.
You don't have to overwrite the body CSS, you can add it along with other CSS attributes. For example:
Code:
body {
cursor:url(Image.png);
background-color: blue;
opacity: 0.7;}
[/hide]
