It is probably possible but it will NOT be free. There are specific softwares/sites that you can use, just google ''bulk email sender'' and you should see what your options are.

ps: Bulk email messaging is considered illegal in many countries and can get you into troubles.

Mailchimp does that.

I'm not sure whats the max number, but it does send out mass emails!

Mailchimp will probably be ok but they don't allow you to spam, the best bet would be to split the e-mails into sets of 200 or so and send them with some sort of bulk e-mailing software over a period of time.

Yes that is correct!

You can also send an email to 500 people at a time with gmail, manually

You should also check with your ISP about doing this. Many ISP's only allow a certain number of emails to be sent every hour.

From my memory, they let you import up to 12.000 subscribers (free).
