FBI Director Claims Tor and the “Dark Web” Won’t Let Criminals Hide From His Agents

Why would they admit this however, not sure I believe this to be honest:
Quote:FBI Director James Comey said on Thursday that criminals who think they can evade law enforcement using the “dark web” and the Tor Network, which is designed to conceal the Internet addresses of the computers being used, are “kidding themselves.”

Comey was asked about criminal use of the so-called Banned from discussions for the sake of the quality of the forum.— parts of the Internet walled off from ready access — at a House Intelligence Committee hearing on cybersecurity on Thursday. His answer referenced Tor, which was originally known as “the onion router.”

And this is why people invented digital currency, to hide their ass when smuggling guns and other things that FBI and other freedom killer agencies don't like.

Anyway what I really wanted to say is that these agencies really want to control our life's, no matter what, they think they are doing a good for us, but I don't agree with them, its not their concern what I do on any part of the Internet, no matter its white or black.

When TV's will emanate odors I'll make my own GanjaTV's and sell them all.

I find it odd that they would admit to knowing how to find people, kind of goes against them finding highly dangerous suspects so why would they come out and say that. I suspect it's just bullshit to be honest.

HawkEye, yes it seems plain BS, but you never know.

If they could do that TOR would have been closed by now so is just some BS.

If you have read the story of SilkRoadand how it got taken down you'll know that people that take proper precautions CAN hide effectively on the dark web. The only way the could take that site down was from forum stalking to get info for "Dread Pirate Roberts", the site's admin, and getting his trust. This was the case with DarkMarket (carder forum) back in the days, they managed to take it down by getting the trust of the admin.

I was going to download Tor but I saw the dark web documentary and read something about governments being suspect of Tor users, so I never did use it. Not that I know anything about the dark web really, just wanted the privacy.
