After the last update my domain that was ranked #1 for a 30K searched term dropped to pages 10+

Should i buy a new domain, and 301 Redirect the old one to this new domain? and hopefully all the link juice will transfer?

IMHO, After Penguin 3.0, new domains are getting penalized within few days once they reach top 10.

Will u please confirm your derank domain age as well as for how many days you were able to rank it in top 10 ?

Why would you redirect penalized domain to a new one? It will just get your new one penalized too. Forget about that domain.

OP has mentioned that he is thinking to transfer link juice and authority to the new domain so that he can rank the new domain quickly, it will ultimately penalized his new domain but it depends how quickly G penalized it while he can enjoy the rankings for few months or days.

IMHO, now a days sites ranking with CnB methods are getting penalized quickly within few days. If anyone can confirm it ?

Right, but is too risky and kinda pointless and very likely a waste of time. People get attached to penalized domains that they lost when the best thing always is just to forget about it.

Its all about Churn and Burn, a calculated risk ;) , depends on many factors.

If you are able to rank new domain for a keyword having 30K Exact Search for 1-2 months, scale up the method for another 10 - 20 keywords. You can bank hard.

Just like many IMers are doing YT Videos, creating accounts on regular basis. Uploading rehashed videos and try to rank them.

IMO, this might be a useful method provided that if u can maintain the ranking for at least 1-2 months that's what all about churn and burn.
