The problem is not about legal issues, it's about "duplicate content". Please google about this topic to prevent yourself from being de-indexed.

Yes, that's illegal, you are breaking someones copyrights! You can make intro to news or story and at the bottom of that text, include link to source article, something like, "Read more at...", "Source article", "Find out more at..." (You saw that many times aren't you)!

Far more better is if you rewrite that article, write with your own words, add some text, reduce it etc..

Even if you don't want to do SEO, the duplicate content would kill your site out of the index at some point.

Thanks for the reply. I am not intending to get traffic from SEO.
I have an FB page in the news niche and I thought that instead of giving the fans direct links to BBC and CNN, I would copy/paste the article in my blog and monetize it via ads. also, the issue of de-indexing my website is not a problem as it is just a free domain (dot TK)

Thank you for the answer :)

This is what I am afraid from... if I used "Read more at" I will lose the visitors.. I need them to stay and read in my blog.
aslo, rewriting every article I want to post will be a very annoying and heart breaking experience. So, I think I would risk and see what will happen.

Thanks for the reply.

I totally agree with you. I am intending to drive traffic from my FB page.

You posted in the correct section ;-)

ontopic: I'm not sure how it's going to be with copyright, But i am sure it's not good for SEO.
So you're better off writing your own article(s).
