Do you agree with capital punishment executions?

I read that there had been some guy executed and he suffered a lot, apparently it took some time for him to die and stuff. I read some reports whereby people actually felt sorry for him, for me I'm a firm believer in (an eye for an eye), so, my reaction would have to be: what about the person he killed that suffered. Take a look at what some of these people commit: http://news.yahoo.com/georgia-missouri-c...57884.html then tell me it's not justified. Just my personal opinion on the matter anyway.

What do you think?

I do not agree with : an eye for an eye methodology. There's always a reason behind every action. We don't know why any murders or any other sickos did that bad thing. There must be a reason, a necessity.. Every one deserves a second chance, even we do. Those murders also deserve a second chance. So it's wrong to think like : AN EYE FOR AN EYE.

Each to their own that is your view, I have mine. I'm talking (only) in regards to this subject however.

Well, i don't think that we should fall to the person's level. If it's an eye for an eye than we should also execute the person who is doing the executing, and so on....and this will bring a loop hole or an infinite circle :P

No really, only God gives life so only Him can take it (yeaa i'm a religion freak :P )

People who committed crime should be punishable under the law. Personally, I don't agree on death sentence, people should be given a second chance but not necessarily give them pardon maybe some point in time they'll realize there mistakes. They should still in jail and fulfill them life sentence, we can't guarantee that they won't do it again, at least if they're on jail, there move were constraint. To do justice with the family or for the victim, the criminal should pay for damages.

There are also criminals who are at large and innocent people were convicted, some were framed up. Judges can also make wrong judgement and convicted a wrong person.

In reality, I understand Hawk Eye's position, If your loved ones was murdered or brutally killed, you'll feel grudges and hate and wish to kill the person who did it to your loved ones. You can't suppress anger in no time, it takes time. It's easy to say but for those who experienced murdered loved ones, that's very hard and unacceptable at first.

Don't agree with it. The state shouldn't have the power to kill, regardless of the circumstances.

I wonder if you would think that if it were someone you knew though.

True, but then I would be letting my emotions affect my decision which I don't think is good pertaining to such powers like taking a life. I also believe I would probably end up opposing it after the initial reaction as I wouldn't want others (suspects' family) to go through what I just did.

Agreed, I guess there is that as well in regards to how the actual suspects family come into the picture, I guess there are many different angles on something like this.

Yeah man, I was at english exam about a week ago, and I picked the Death penalty and guns topic. And I think it's fair aswell that he dies, not that he suffers.. But if he can take someones life(s), then I think it's fair to kill him aswell.
