Did This Kill My Site?

My website has been ranked on the first page for about 2-3 months for a pretty saturated keyword and it's finally starting to drop, and is currently at page 2-3. I have been doing tiered link building with GSA and have been sending it about 30 article/social network articles a day as my tier 1's. For my tier 1's I have also been sending it around 50 "spammy" links a day from platforms such as forums, social bookmarks, wiki's, and social network profiles; so around 80 links a day. Do you think my website starting to drop is from these "spammy" links?

Lots of people have told me that it is bad to use Webmasters tools for non whitehat sites.

No, your links are just getting devalued, is not a penalty. You also lose a certain percent of spam links on a monthly basis.

Do you recommend I keep building these "spammy" links along with the articles, or just focus solely on the articles?

Do I just keep building links, and wait for it to move back up?

All of those links are "spammy", including articles, bookmarks, wiki's etc. Just keep building them, focus only on contextual links in Tier 1 (you have the option in GSA SER when you right click to de-select engines that don't use contextual links).

That's your best bet. Or better yet buy some private blog network links and you'll shoot to first spot in no time.
