Creating Content and Spinning Articles

I just put up a post on my multiniche blog and I had a question about the actual article. This is the process I went through.

1) I used a program (Get Article?) That scrapes all the ezine sites for related articles.

2) I took one of the articles and then made it readable as most of it is spun already and doesn't really make sense.

3) I then took pieces from another article and added it in there. So now I have 2 different articles combined into one.

4) I took this article and put it into a spinner (http://free-article-spinner.com/) and just spun certain sentences and words.

My question is how can I be sure that my article is original enough to not be counted as duplicate content by Google? I know I can use copyscape but you have to pay for that. Is there any other way to see how different my article is? I mean it's a free download so I don't really have to sell the person downloading it per say, I'm just worried from an SEO perspective.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the article on the WordPress blog that has the PPD link has to be as original as possible. I've read several times that the article I use when creating backlinks doesn't really matter and based on hawkeye's tutorial doesn't even really have to be readable?

Just want to make sure I have the right plan of action when creating posts and backlinks.

What are your thoughts on this? Any recommendations?

As i know copyscape all the way...
5 cents per article is not that much i guess

I know you can go to http://www.copyscape.com/ and enter the url and see if there are any matches. Most of the pages that matched my url had less than 15% of the page matching. I'm guessing that let's me know that my article is AT LEAST 85% original? Majority of the stuff matching were the keywords.

What do you think about my process? Any tools you'd recommend or something you'd change to actually create the article. I guess the way I'm doing it is "hand spinning" in a sense?

wordai and kontent machine is great tool. Just buy them, both are dam good.

I plan on buying them once I start getting some downloads. I have a couple of free tools that are verifying how unique my articles are right now. I don't mind putting in the work to start out.

Thanks for reminding me though.
