It would be foolish to believe in that email. Looks fake to me.

I heard some people had to shut down there domain if it was very same like the original domain name of a big company like EA and Blizzard.

Are you sure this e-mail is 100% legit?

- Ensure that the email is legit by contacting the hosting directly and asking.
- Locate the reason for the DMCA complaint, meaning, you must ask your hosting to find out what the EXACT file / image / term is related to in the way of the complaint. Understand, if you were to remove your WHOLE domain without knowing this, you could very well of just made a very big mistake it if turns out that the issue was related to one of the above.

Email them back and ask for a contact phone number.
If you get a legit phone number then it is real, otherwise it is not.
If you get a cease and assist letter through the mail then you need to worry otherwise this is your competition being a fool.

Just becareful when you address them. I agree with getting a phone number so you can discuss it with them. It will reveal who it really is possibly.. with a reverse number look up..

Call them up.
If it's legit, just find a new domain and do a 301 Permanent redirect to the competition site.

I've had to do it before myself, though I was 100% sure it was the actual company.

can you pm me the site info ?

some times adding "this site is not affiliated with ***** and ***** is trademark of ****" helps.

but it depends upon site. don't take it lightly i have seen legal notices from amazon and it looks quite similar.

you can try to remove that brand name with a unofficial name.
(there are many brands which have unofficial names)
Google = The Big G (but those are only known to a specific type of people, search niche related forums and find a good name for it)
or
you can make some changes in your post/page to make it look as they want.

ops ! i think i am quite late.

nvm
