Chun and Burn: Wordpress domain vs self hosted wordpress blog?

What would be different when trying to rank a wordpress blog with a self hosted domain instead of a nichename.wordpress.com one?

Would it take longer to appear in the search results? Would it still be possible to do churn and burn on a normal .com site with wordpress installed?

Apart from the fact that it wouldnt get deleted, what are other benefits of a self hosted wordpress site?

A web 2.0 will rank faster because of it's domain authority but it gets deleted sooner or later. Everything can be ranked :D There are no other benefits beside that you host the site (more possibilities to increase cr etc.).

Depends on what you want.
Long term / Short term income.
With long term i suggest to get a .com + webhost.
For short term use wordpress.com, but remember you will get deleted sooner or later.

I guess since it's C&B - google will deindex you faster than wordpress admins.
I had a case study on that: 2 websites - nichename.com & nichename.wordpress.com.
The same structure of the websites with same low competition keyword - the wordpress.com was indexed and hit the top faster when com domain is still being indexed and getting only few clicks from bing and yahoo :)

So I advice you to use wordpress.com
