CSS trick to hide your links

quick blackhat trick ;)

[hide]
ok here is a trick to avoid obviously hidden divs with display:none ..or creating a javascript mess ;P
simply use the css clip property:

Code:
<div style="position:absolute;clip:rect(666px,auto,auto,666px);">

.. your links / text ..

</div>
so what happens here is that the css defines to show part of the div limited by a rectangle with top 666px and left 666px.
the lenght of the text is adjusted so that it will always be to the left of the clipping region or above.
the smaller the number the higher chances are that some text would become visible.. just play around with it and see for yourself

some more details about the clip property: https://developer.mozilla.org/de/docs/Web/CSS/clip[/hide]

Deprecated
This feature has been removed from the Web standards. Though some browsers may still support it, it is in the process of being dropped. Do not use it in old or new projects. Pages or Web apps using it may break at any time.

Warning: This property is deprecated. Use clip-path instead.

– Why would anyone hide any links in the first place?

well there are multiple reasons why someone would hide links or other stuff from users (its not limited to links only)..
anyways might be deprecated, but still works as of date and likely for a few more years.
this is also just a little trick that has been around for a while, just use the newer properties then, you can likely get the same result :)
