Are making Wordpresses and other blog tier 1 links worth it?

Yeah so making posts and pages to wordpress, blogger etc.. and linking them to your site. Is that stuff worth the time?

Google always loves contextual link building... unique content submission on WEB 2.0 sites with the appropriate anchors boost your keyword rankings.

It is worth the time if you are planning on keeping your site for a long time, if you make the web 2.0's very clean you will stay under the radar, make sure to blast your Tier 1 links though as you will barely see any results with just a few wordpress blogs linking to your site.
