Used to do Adsense years ago and looking to get into it. Created a new account, got to first approval where they told me to add code to my site and wait until final approval. Question is...how long does that usually take in your experience?

Usually it took upto 3 days. They need to check if you are delivering impressions to the ads that you have added to your site.

If you have a hosted account I believe to switch to normal you have to go to my ads and create new ads then place it in your domain and wait for approval so it pretty much like you applying again.

Don't apply unless your website is fully ready with many important things ( google them ) and traffic. You can apply again.
