A strange program / script.

Anyone knows a solution to this:

- I have a list of let's say, 1000 different words, each in one row in Notepad.

For example, something like this.

word1
word2
word3
word4
....
word1000

- After that, I have a list of files within one folder.

- Is it anyhow possible to automatically rename each of these files by assigning one word per line to each of the files?

It would mean a lot of time savings by having this.

I wouldn't need to manually click "Rename" on each file and then copying word1, word2, word3, etc. instead.

Any help, advice or information / link, would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

This can be achieved through Visual Basic or C#. I don't know if you have any programming experience but here is a resource that will help you.

https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/5w05844e.aspx

Instead of specifying a single folder you can probably use an Open File Dialog to select all the paths of the folders.

If you need further help I recommend you go to StackOverFlow.

I think this means I should still have to manually type in the locations and the files I am targetting. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just looking for a tool that will automatically import list of rows and assign each of them as the names for the files within the folder I specify. :/

Open File Dialog will allow you to select all your folders at once like you would when upload to MediaFire or something. But you will need to write an algorithm that would also take in your notepad file and read each line and rename the folders. I highly recommend going on StackOverFlow someone might even give you an easier solution. I think you can also use a simple Batch script to do this.
